It's a crockpot!

Chicken noodle soup with sweet potatoes. Sounds wierd; tastes good.

6 to 8 ounces, sknless chicken thighs; cut into 1-inch pieces
2 sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dryed thyme
1/4 tsp. marjoram
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 bay leaf
1 14 1/2 oz. can chicken broth
8 oz. egg noodles, cooked

Combine all ingredients except the egg noodles in the crockpot. Cover; cook on low for 8 to 10 hours; or on high for 4 to 5 hours. Stir in egg noodles before serving.

Three out of four Bystander household members agree that it's a pretty tasty dish, and the fourth is just being picky!

Hi Nancy,

I'm trying this again as name just doesn't pass muster! Anyway, I'm not a cook but a crock pot brings cozy thoughts of winter & stews and just might become a possibility, if not a reality this year!

Looks good. Maybe I'll try making it sometime, though I'm not much of a cook.

By the way, what was up with Donna B.'s comment today? That was certainly uncalled for.

The great thing about crockpotting I've found is a. they're cheap; mine was about $35; b. you get all the cooking done early in the day when you still have the inspiration and there's nothing else to do before dinner except set the table; and c. yes! It's very fall-ish, and as our high yesterday was 82, that's fall enough for me!

Yeah, Mike, I don't know about Donna B., but whatever.

In anticipation of Halloween and scary movie nights, any recipes for "creepy corn", "scary spaghetti", "frightening fries", "bloodcurdling beets", "daunting daiquiris", "terrifying tomatoes", etc?

Oh and who is Donna B?
