Ouchie

While I nurse a sprained ankle with chocolate malt and Diet Pepsi from a new chain fast-food place our neighborhood, check out this nugget that I found via Tom Maguire:

[Clinton] said Democrats of his generation tend to be naive about new media realities. There is an expectation among Democrats that establishment old media organizations are de facto allies -- and will rebut political accusations and serve as referees on new-media excesses.

"We're all that way, and I think a part of it is we grew up in the '60s and the press led us against the war and the press led us on civil rights and the press led us on Watergate," Clinton said. "Those of us of a certain age grew up with this almost unrealistic set of expectations."

Hmm ...revealing.

Yeah, such as expecting a certain former president to have actually done his job protecting this country from Islamist terrorism.

...amongst other expectations of a president....oh brother. Its amazing the statements he makes...in public...where everyone can read it...and collectively roll their eyes.

btw, I always like the links to your hometown joints, Nancy. Culvers and custard? Who sells custard? Must be a Texas thing.

Culver's is totally midwestern! Click on the link of the 330 restaurants to see the map.

Custard sounds good right about now though...

Do you know how often I lurk at Cathy's Place, just reading Mike K and Bradley and Rejket and dmac and Mike in S.A.? No, how could you? Well, too much, that's how much!

I know what you mean re Cathy's World. A lot of times I marvel at what a bunch of magpies those men are! Often amusing, sometimes not to be believed (David E), sometimes insightful (Ody, Mike K, Bradley, Alan, Doug) and sometimes, simply hostile (all of the above)... I like the quiet statements of women and tend to ponder those alot because all the male pontification can make me tired - not that there isn't meat there, too - but a lot of times I just roll my eyes or wander over to Go Fug Yourself where the really deep stuff is!

You conservatives still don’t get it yet do you? It’s all about me stupid!

See one of my goals is to be the most talked about president. It doesn’t matter whether it is good talk or bad talk – just as long as it is talk about me. And boy you guys, not to mention you yummy mama’s, cannot resist talking about me!!!! I just love it. Some Democrats think its just deflection – trying to take attention away from bad things happening under Republican leadership – but I respectfully disagree. Whether they are saying good things or bad things, people love to talk about me – mission accomplished. I think I’ll go smoke a cigar.

p.s. for god's sake, Bill, can it for once be about something other than you?!

p.p.s. I re-read a couple of CW's entries and I would like to add Dmac, Webster, Mike in S.A. & Doc Stglove. (when he makes an appearance) as thought provokers.
