Blaming Mr. Rogers

Here's an interesting article blaming Mr. Rogers and the doting-style of parenting he represented on the narcissism of young people today. If you can get behind the $$ wall, it's worth a read. Best line: 'In America today, life often begins with the anointing of "His Majesty, the Fetus,".

Oh for cryin' out loud - let's just bottom line it - if our kids are self-centered little twits its because we said yes, when we should have been saying NO!

This looking outside of ourselves to lay responsibility is getting ridiculous.

And it makes me think if people really believe the influence of some older man in a baggy sweater and goofy tennies with a gentle and kind soul had that much influence on the American family, then too many people had their tv's on too damn much.

Oh, for corn's sake. I think spoiled kids come from parents who ignore them and pile gifts on them to make up for it. Actually spending time with and appreciating your kids is a good thing.
