Ketchum was a damn good song...especially for some langorous west coast swing, if you know what that is.

Question: why is there a handicapped symbol on the end of the word verification box? And yes I was fool enough to click it. Sounded like a tape run in reverse like those ghost recordings on Art Bell with some female voice counting over it.

to allen: handicap symbol is for people who have trouble reading the captcha verification. It is supposed to read it to them so they can type it in. (theoretically).. but you are right... this one sounds downright scary.

allan, I used to think the song went "I'm going to catch him, catch him if I can." A mondegreen for one of my own brother's songs.

elmo, thanks for the explanation. I don't get the word verification box on Bystander I guess b/c it's my site.

Off topic, but the tooth fairy forgot to come last night and I woke early to a tearful daughter. Doh!

OH NO ... so how are you handling the tooth fairy debacle?

Ugh! How dumb and I? Well, I told her that it happened to me once as a little girl and that I was sure the Tooth Fairy would be back the next night.

She mentioned the story to the librarian at story time this morning, who shouted, "WHAT? The TOOTH fairy forgot to come last night?!" all the while looking at me in astonishment.

Her look was really kind of a glare, which made Emma, who was by now ok with it, come back to me giggling about it and asking what was the big deal. Sigh.

Well I have some comfort in my grave knowing that at least one parent cannot blame the future narcissism of their child for following my "doting-style of parenting".

Oh, when the librarian shouted and looked at you in astonishment ... that was my ghost taking her over for a moment.

Warm hugs. Won't you be my neighbor?
